Oratory of the church of S. Agostino

The church of Sant' Agostino dates back to the fourteenth century, and was heavily remodeled in the Baroque era. Adjacent to the church, the subject of restoration, has been the beautiful Oratory of Sant'Agostino, a real gem, entirely frescoed by Santo Governali in the eighteenth century, and with a remarkable majolica floor, further enhanced with stucco, paintings, and painted wood. At the center of the wall, opposite the entrance, stands the polychrome wooden statue of the Madonna del Soccorso. The vault has been consolidated, the cracks have been sewn up, the lintels has been redone and some doors and windows have been recovered. Finally, it was carried out a cleaning operation and consolidation on site of the majolica floor and of the wooden statue of the Madonna del Soccorso.
